Professional Statement

My name is Djeneba Soumaoro, student of IDS Environmental Studies and Early Childhood Development with a minor in Psychology. My goal is to open a solar energy company in Mali. With my Early Childhood Development knowledge, I want to further ameliorate the school my mother opened. My desire is to have an establishment where each student feels special and safe. In my opinion, a psychological background is always useful no matter which field you choose in life. I had the chance this semester to complete several hours-of-service learning in a solar company. So far, I just got my associate degree in general studies from Valencia College and started my first semester at UCF. I am a member of SASS “Sisters with Aims in Serving Society” association. I also taught Tajweed (rules for reading Quranic Arabic) for a year. I am in the process of getting my Ijaza (certification) of Tajweed and have been a student of Thematic Quran for almost 3 years now.
